Wonderful airport with allot of friendly and helpful staff. I travel allot with work and for leisure and YYC international is a truly wonderful building. Well organized ample amount of seating allot of restaurants and a very nice food court in the concourse E USA departures level. Also a nice beer place. My only criticism is get rid of Tim Hortons its awful service and their coffee is tasteless. Maybe More Starbucks or some independent organic breweries.
Calgary International Airport is an excellent facility is almost every way. Efficient, clean, courteous, well staffed, spacious and modern. The shops are nice, well spaced throughout the terminals and represent a variety of options. I would have given this airport five stars (5*) except for one obvious and important mistake they have made. I wouldn't mention it except that it was obviously an intentional decision on the part of airport planners. Specifically, when you finally proceed through the final US customs checkpoint into Terminal E gates, you are required to go through the entire length of a modern perfume vendor plaza. It is not optional and not just a few steps. The escalator takes you to the back of the store and you emerge to turn and must walk through the length of it. People with strong reactions or allergies have no recourse or warning- you must walk through the plaza. Several perfume vendors line the walk on your left and right. By the time I got out of the store I was sniveling and my allergies were reacting. I went to the restroom to clean up and splash water on my face to cool down.People without allergies may think this trivial but it is very frustrating for those who encounter this. I would have chosen another route of it were available and certainly wouldn't be upset. But this kind of planning is obviously made on the basis of marketing, sales and vendor preferences, without regard to customer care or safety (strong reactions to such perfumes could cause an asthmatic attack). This aspect of the airport should be reviewed and the issue addressed.
It's seems kinda weird reviewing an airport but after spending time here waiting for my morning flight, I felt I had to.First the seats there are so comfy. Especially if you have to wait awhile and have time to nap.The real reason I wanted to review it was how clean the restrooms are. I travel a lot and have been through a lot of airports. This airport is hands down the cleanest I have ever seen. I actually told the attendant in the morning how good of a job he was doing.Keep up the good work Calgary!!
I LOVE the Airport. Everything is organized. Nothing wrong about the Airport. The New International Terminal is HUGE and Awesome. There is lots of kiosk. It works Well. The baggage carousel tells when exactly your baggage are and when are they coming. The terminal is extremely wide. I love the parkade. There is thousands of cars to park.
For smokers... Just an FYI.. If you are entering terminal E, you can not leave to smoke. At all. .. I felt like I was Tom Hanks! The reason being once you go through customs for terminal E you are "technically" on American soil and they won't let you come and go as you please. Not even once, so if you smoke you must leave the airport. Do NOT go through customs before then. There was one sign, quite small. It was frustrating...
