A pillar of the art community in Calgary. It's a wonderful artist-run space showcasing many up-and-coming artists from all over Canada.
The works are often experimental, but never boring. The public programming is really interesting, a lot of conversations you just wouldn't see anywhere else. They also make lots of publications, so its good to ask, there's always interesting pieces of poetry, essays, and things available, many of them are pay by donation. So you can really snag a deal. Come on opening night to meet the artist (and get drinks for cheap!), but if you really want to take your time and enjoy yourself, just go on a regular afternoon. The staff are easy to talk too and don't mind answering questions, even if you don't know a lot about art.
I had a very pleasant experience at Stride for one of their events. Great space for setting up galleries or for vendors to setup. Really cool and helpful staff!
