Try answering the phone every now and then. No matter when I called, I was always put on hold, and my call was answered by a call centre. My reservation was revised by the location without my notification or permission initially, and we had to completely cancel and rebook to get the vehicle we needed. Our reservation was then changed again, shortening the time we had the truck to less than 2 hours instead of 3 days, again, without telling me until they were asking me to return the truck. We talked to them, and were told the situation was rectified. I was then harassed at work the next day when they were asking me to return the truck again. My boyfriend spoke with them, and once more, had to ask them why our rental wasn't what it was supposed to be. We returned the truck before the time we had initially agreed to, about an hour and a half early, and were still told we would have to pay an additional day of rental because it was "15 minutes over the time we were supposed to return it." I had forgotten my wallet, and had been told we could call them back with the credit card information and process the payment over the phone. I attempted to contact the location for the next 2 days with no success, being transferred to the call centre every time, and having them leave messages for the location, which were never returned. The manager we dealt with in the end was able to waive the additional day fee, but not honour the price we were told when we returned the truck, and we paid almost $30 more than we were told on check in. The complete lack of organization and utter disregard for customer service and care made this whole deal a hassle, and definitely not worth the $308 we paid. We could have paid other companies that much to do all the moving for us, and had a better experience.
I find it hard to understand why the process to pick up and drop off is sooo painfully slow. I mean the services they offer are pretty straightforward but even during the first of the month when they know they will be busy they are understaffed and move as slow as ever. The agents are all staring at their screens like they have never seen them before. They are great people with great service but their processes are in desperate need of a review and update they are under terrible management. They don't talk to each other about which steps people are waiting for. They should be better at this by now. And to you idiot customers that come without a reservation are the worst!!!
The service was adequate. We arrived at 9:10 am on a Saturday. Stood in line in a disgusting building to more than an hour and a half and then when we got the truck we were informed that we would need to fill it up because someone had siphoned all the gas out of their trucks the night before. That being said, pick up and drop off were easy enough for us, when we were finally served everyone was pleasant. It doesn't seem to matter which Saturday morning you go to U-Haul it is always the busiest day of the year and they are out of all of the most popular choices. Which added significantly to every single transaction making it so that what should have been a wait for maybe a few minutes ended up being a wait for nearly 2 hours.
Said they didn't have my reservation until I pulled up my email confirmation and showed her. Did not get the unit I booked. I moved from Toronto to Calgary used a U-Haul it was a nightmare from the beginning. Not to mention the problems I had in Toronto (the hitch I ordered and paid for and opted for store pick up was not there I had to go to Canadian Tire and buy one... Luckily I did it was a fraction of the price). None the less this is about this location. I spent I fortune on U-Haul and to not get a drive up unit as book was such an annoyance. But to be told it's an easy access location was the cherry on top. It was a friggin labrynth, the staff was very interested, and prepare to spend a good chunk of time there.... Efficiency is not in the job description there.
These guys were awesome. If you are pod moving a small house, I would definitely recommend renting their uboxes to do it! We had a truck to pull them ourselves, but even so the cost including delivery for 2 boxes is way cheaper than most other pod moving companies. It made my fiance's move way smoother. He didn't get access to his new place for a short time, and being able to just drop everything here and not have to deal with it for 2 weeks was a major deal. We picked it up early to have a week to load it, then stored it for the 2 weeks, then unloaded him at the other end. The only things to note are that their double trailers are limited, and the service is not the fastest. But we were extremely satisfied with our moving experience through them and definitely would consider doing so again. 10/10
