There was one thing I noticed that needs improvement; the prominent posting of step by step procedure on each type of application is necessary in the facility.I gave 5 out of 5 rating because I saw some great changes from the first time I processed my SPA early this year and today when I applied for my authentication of document. Thus, staff are more accommodating. Procedure is more organize like staff are assigned in a specific role such as cashiering, processing for passport and processing for other documents or other services.I waited for 2 hours to process my authentication application; however, Staff shown great attitude to improve their service in some way.And it is sad that they removed the donated photocopy machine. It is a long walk to find a photocopier services in the vicinity.
Sadly, this office is a mirror of the poor quality of service that most Philippine citizens get from the government. Typical bureaucratic and inefficient. They get days off for holidays both in Canada and the Philippines, and works less than 8 hours a day. But this is not what I'm extremely disappointed about. They publish in their website service schedules and phone numbers but NOTHING EVER WORKED. You'd call a number that takes you to a voice prompt saying this line is for emergency only, but no one ever picks up instead redirects you to a voice mailbox. What would happen if someone out there genuinely needs immediate help? And then you call the other numbers that have proven to be all useless and a waste of resource because no one ever answers. Then you take the effort to show-up to their office only to sympathize with people whose personal stories and situations are being broadcasted by those insensitive Consulate people. Consulate folks, please up your game - may we remind you that you are in a foreign land representing the government of our country. We are expected to live the values of this country and provide services at par if not exceeding the kind that we get here.
This a very busy consulate and because the Filipino Government refuses to see the need for more employees it gets 10% of the community upset. The other 90% maybe concerned, but not angry. If people want to see improvements they need to write their governing officials and insist on better services. That is if they wish for them.
The facility is tidy and has a good flow in terms of processing. I filed for passport renewal 2nd week of April 2018 and picked up the item August 8, 2018. Thanks to sir Earl, I appreciate his kindness and considerations when I have mistakenly brought and the wrong paperworks. His work ethic and stress free attitude is a good representation of the company.
Filipino behavior brought in Calgary. I finished the first part before 3 persons that aren't senior nor minors but got entertained in the cashier (part 2) after the 3 persons after me was done. During the picture taking, both guys just sat there wasting everybody's time when there are piles of file to be done for picture taking. Just because you serve Filipinos doesn't mean you have to act the same way as you do back in the country. You guys are lucky we can't do it somewhere else in Calgary.
