The food was good, however the selection is rather small considering the size of the place as well that it was prime dinner eating time and it was their $15.99 Tuesday dinner buffet special. The food was also warm, but not particularly hot even when fresh out of the kitchen, oddly.Overall, this was my first time there and it wasn't incredible, but I'd be happy to give them another try.
The buffet which has been toted as being the best in Calgary, was mediocre at best. We went right after 5:00 pm so the food would be at it's freshest. It was off in several dishes, and the mussel shells looked like green slime had not been completely scrubbed off of them. (besides tasting as though I would regret eating them.) The staff was friendly and efficient, with the exception of the lady who took the payment. She assumed that the remaining balance was her tip. Being well over 25%, she was required to return the funds so an appropriate to could be left. I'll never go back, nor would I recommend it to anyone.
There with a group. Buffet was refilled frequently. Had a dedicated server for our group and a separate room. The room however had a gaping hole in the ceiling that distracted from overall visual appearance of the place. Bit crowded at the serving area especially as people wouldn't use both sides at once. They kept the free water up.The senior discount of $1 is hardly appropriate should be the usual 10% min especially considering they added gratuity of 18% as a group, not sure at a buffet situation how this is justified?
If I could rate less I would. I waited over 2 hours for my food. They sent it to the top unit first when I told them I lived in a basement and to text upon arrival. When the food finally came it was not good at all. The only consolation was the 25% off I received for how late they were and the devilery man was one of the most polite men I have met. Suffice to say I will not be ordering food from there again.
Place has amazing food. Their buffet it awesome. We go often with friends but the last time we went they said they were out of sushi and it was early. They need to fill the buffet trays a little more often. I was told the sushi was coming but never did. Actually went for the sushi so they got a 4 rather than a 5
