Definitely not what you'd think of as a "park" (I wasn't sure I was in the right place!) but the kids enjoyed the playground and went on an adventure to explore the main building and its walkways. Even the baby had fun.
My fiance and I came to the park to scout out places for our engagement/wedding photos. The park was really nice but when we were at the info desk, the lady was very rude. I stood right in front of the desk waiting for her to look up from her phone to help me. She didn't. She just sat there on her phone for a good solid minute. I cleared my throat and tried to remain polite as I didn't want to interrupt her. Anyways, I continued to stand there like an idiot and when I finally had enough, I left. That's when I heard her put her phone down. Usually, a helpful worker would call you back and apologize for making you wait. That was not the case. She turned me off so bad, I immediately told my fiance to cross this place off the list (even though I did like some aspects of the park). What a rude lady. I hope they replace her with someone with better customer service.
While I value the design and purpose of Ralph Klein Park, it's not a spot I, or my family really would enjoy returning to very often. I think it's real strength (other than the obvious wet land preservation) is in it's value as an educational opportunity for students.
The playground is a whole lot of fun! It's a natural playground so there are lots of things to climb on, in, and around. But all of that pales in comparison to the zip line! It's a nice long line that gets a bit of speed as the kids (and, ahem, adults) cruise down the line. At the very end of the line it stops suddenly so be prepared. There are some great riding/walking trails, lots of different bird species to see, and apples to pick as well. We really enjoy this little Oasis (and the zip line).
Rode out here on the bike last night. Was the only person here. Buildings were all locked up and lights were off.... thats fine as I wasn't intending to go in anyways but I was a bit surprised by that. the term "park" is a bit of a stretch. They probably should call it a nature area instead as there nothing parkish about the place. I'm sure for nature lovers the place is great, you can see time and effort went into constructing it all. For me though there was nothing that made me say I need to come back here. The bike ride out was more interesting for me. Riding on the boardwalks across the wetlands behind Copperfield was more interesting.UPDATE 08/04/18. The new outdoor playground is open and its really fun. Lots of things for kids to do. The zip line is super fun!
