Tonight was my first time at Bridgette bar! (I had heard amazing thing from friends and could wait to try it!) I cant even begin with how amazing the service, food, hospitality, drinks and overall experience was! From the moment you arrive they make you feel so special! The food is absolutely fabulous! The vibe is really warm and amazing! I can see why they have a full house! I will most definitely be back and cant wait to tell others how wonderful everything was. 10/10 easily!
Got to eat at the bar and was able to enjoy watching the chefs work. The food was delicious and there were some unique flavors to them. The octopus dish was delicious and the lamb one was full of flavors! Service was good but our waitress got a little slow at the end when a couple of large parties came in so it was understandable. Overall will visit again!
Bridgette might be my favorite restaurant in Calgary for a special night out. Set in a beautiful industrial building, this restaurant features exposed brick walls, super high ceilings, a mix of mid century Californian decor and art deco, a wide open patio facing the bar, great food and lively ambiance. Make sure to make reservations as this place gets quite busy in the evenings. For food I would recommend ordering a variety of small plates to share tapas style. Pricing for small plates varies between $14 and $19, but portions are fair, expect to share around 5 small plates for two adults.
The appetizer and food menu had a nice variety of items which you wouldn't typically find in other places, such as eggplant fries and grilled octopus. Definitely a place to let you experiment with different foods. There was also a good variety in the types of drinks, providing lots of options to try something new. However, I found the drink prices high: the cheapest beer was $9 for a Calgary-made brew, and the cheapest cocktail was $12. A good place for a special event, but too expensive for a regular destination.
Great establishment in a cool area. Service was great as was the food.Why not five stars? The food style didn't excite me. While we'll executed and it did taste great, it... Just wasn't me?!! I prefer lighter food with strong complex flavors. The dishes I tried were generally heavier.
