I had the pleasure to eat at Yakima for dinner prior to an overnight stay at Marriott. Bottom line up front: it was an outstanding experience. From the beginning I was greeted by friendly staff who were helpful in picking from the menu. I ordered the pulled elk and pork sandwich and while the fries were nothing out of ordinary, the sandwich was amazing. Throughout the meal, my waitress, Ruby, was attentive without being intrusive, polite and very quick to respond to requests. Overall, I would certainty recommend this restaurant because of its excellent service, atmosphere, and food.
What you think of this place will depend largely on how you're evaluating it.As airport food goes, it's pretty decent. Not too overpriced, fresh ingredients and interesting menu options, it's definitely a very welcome alternative to the pretty dismal Montana's and Kelsey's. However, I wouldn't to so far as to call it *good*. The place is definitely more concept than execution. The bisque was thin, and someone made the bizarre choice to deep fry the Dungeness crab... Perhaps to hide the fact that it wasn't well cleaned, as mine came with an unpleasant membrane under all the grease. The artisan salad is decently sized, and rescued by out of a tin pickled beets, as the miso dressing somehow manages to be both overly oily and bland.
Excellent service by the inviting staff at Yakima Social Kitchen & Bar. Knowledgable and eager to recommend options to my dietary restrictions. YOU GUYS ROCK! TEAM WORK MAKES THE DREAM WORK!
This is a great restaurant located in the lobby of the new Airport Marriott Hotel. There are many great choices and the menu. They were easily able to deal with my food allergies and offered a few good selections for me to choose from. The atmosphere is open and spacious. The cocktails are very good and there are some really unique creations. I had both breakfast and lunch here during my stay and they were both very good.
Turned up at YYC only to find that outgoing international flight had been delayed by 3h 10m (!). What to do?Thankfully Yakima Social Kitchen and Bar was there to save us. A wide selection of wines, spirits and cocktails balanced by a good choice of tap/bottled beer. Food looked and tasted really good...nothing fancy but most enjoyable.Service was prompt and friendly. Prices were reasonable.All in all a great way to make the most of a PITA situation. Recommended.
