I've taken my car to Centre Street Auto for several years and have been very happy with the careful/professional maintenance of my vehicle, the reasonable prices and warm and welcoming service.Recently I had to quickly purchase a pre-owned vehicle after a car accident. Lisa, who manages the front desk, was my "go-to" person every time I'd spot a new ad for used car for sale on Kijiji or through a dealership. She saved me so much time, steering me away from those that likely had problems. And Ray, the owner of Centre St. Auto, ensured the car (I was finally thinking abt. getting) was checked out thoroughly for mechanical or structural problems before I made the final purchase. Very relieving and helpful for me!Centre Street Auto is the best. I highly recommend them!
Excellent first experience with Centre Street Auto and Ray. They were able to book me for an appointment immediately, when the other three places I called wouldn't even return my calls. Ray took me through the work that my car needed now, and a good look ahead/timeline for what I might need in the next half year. I never felt pressured to add services that I didn't want or need. Cost was extremely reasonable. A++
This was one of the worst auto shops I have been to. Rude front desk employee, pressure tactics to get you to make a decision right away on VERY EXPENSIVE parts, and left my drivers seat covered in grease and dirt. Will never ever go back here - car owners beware!!! These type of shops are the reason mechanics have such a bad rep. Full story below. Had my vehicle towed here & called ahead letting them know I thought the problem was a cable that needed to be fixed or replaced. Called again in the morning to confirm they had received my message and to make sure they checked that specific cable. 1 hour later i received a call notifying me that it was my transmission fluid that was low and that is what was wrong. After giving the go ahead and $500 later I received a call that it was in fact the cable i had previously advised them to check. Now the best (worst) part. The woman on the phone told me the part would cost $300 + $175 labour and i needed to decide within the next 15 minutes or I would need to wait 7 business days for it to be done. I already knew the price of this cable and knew that $300 was WAY over. I understand that auto shops mark up their parts (understandably) but to mark them up over 100% is ridiculous! On top of that the woman was trying to use a pressure tactic by saying i needed to decide within 15 minutes if i wanted the part. I ended up going and purchasing the part myself at $130 and dropped it off for them to install. When I picked up my vehicle I informed the woman i was disappointed with how they handled the situation - she didn't have much to say other than run around excuses. She seemed to be nervous that I had called her out on it. The topper to all of this is that when i got in my vehicle there was food wrapper garbage left by the mechanic who must have test drove my car as well as grease and dirt all over the driver seat!!! At this point i was so upset I couldn't even go back into the office to inform them. $300 detail later and the grease is out.....
They always do an excellent job. Ive been taking my 2007 Saturn ion to them for 8 years and have never had a problem. They are really good at maintaining and preventative maintenance which saves a fortune over time
