Nice park, I visited this park for the first time this last weekend. It's great how it's not crazy busy like Bowness Park. I took the kids fishing for the first time there. It wasn't overly busy which was nice. It looks like a good bird watching park. We saw a bunch of seniors bird watching

Doctors say we all should walk for one hour a day to stay healthy, so couple of loops around pond at Carburn park sounds like a good way to reach this goal. Paved two lane trail is in a good shape and suitable for hikers and bicyclists. At the west side pond separated from Bow River by about 100 meters of land, so you could have a nice view of both. Area populated by elks, ducks, once in awhile you could see beavers as well as a large owl who often to be seen on east side of the pond in a trees between path and homes. During the people allowed to skate on smaller pond ice, trees decorated with lights at this time too and the path usually cleared of snow. Bathrooms are clean and well maintained. Parking lot can accommodate few dozens of vehicles and usually has empty spots for your car. Area is flat and handicap friendly. Carburn Park had decent day use picnic area with tables and firepits before the flood, which is now looks non operational. Alcohol is prohibited. Dogs are welcome. Some people come for fishing too. Nice safe and friendly park. Cons: I find it a bit hard to find since signs leading to the park are small and hard to see.

My family love this park. Not over crowded, lovely trails, places to take out the boats...just wish they were some swimming. I am sure the water is fine. But it says no swimming. Would feel safer if it said swim at own risk. I never seen anyone swimming there.

The atmosphere feels like you're away from the city life. It is so peaceful and refreshing. One thing I love about this park is the central lake within its parameter. Great outdoor place which is ideal for group activities like picnics, birthday celebration..church events..ect. It also has washrooms available. Your kids will also love to see the animals..ducks and beavers. It's also great place to go jogging and biking. You can canoe on the lake, rental rates are reasonable. Also you will find one of Calgary's oldest tree there. Come see for yourself. When you visit this park you will definitely want to visit it a second time.

One of the few spots in town where my wife & son can take their paddle board and Kayak. Only complaint would be the amount of poop from all the geese in the grass. Its also a great place for kids that are learning how to ride single track bike trails. The trails are easy to ride with a variety of surfaces to learn on. Perfect for my son to get used to trail riding before I take him onto harder trails.
