I am thoroughly disappointed with my visit to this walk-in clinic. Dr. Fajimi demonstrated terrible bedside manner and spoke to his patients in a condescending way. Along with a runny nose and coughing, my toddler had been experiencing diarrhea and vomiting for the last 4 days. I took him in to make sure it wasn't anything serious, as the vomiting and diarrhea persisted for longer than I was comfortable with. He asked me what I had been noticing and when I told him my observations, he reprimanded me for giving him "inaccurate information" for saying I feel like my son has lost a bit of weight. He didn't even approach my son to take a closer look, never mind actually give him a basic body exam (e.g. checking his mouth and ears).I am obviously not a medical professional, or there would be no need for me to visit one. I am just a regular mother who expects those who are trained in the medical field to be professional and demonstrate a degree of empathy.Bottom line is, I do not recommend this doctor and will not be visiting this clinic again.
Checked the Medicentre website and found this location had only a 20 minute wait time. Drove 20 minutes to get there to discover it's been closed for 45 minutes. Either Medicentre staff can't do math or they're lazy. Awful experience. I'd recommend you call before going but they don't answer their phones either. When I complained to the receptionist that their hours on Google Maps didn't reflect their business hours I was haughtily told "we don't control Google."
I came for walk in today and saw Dr. Jillian Shirley. She was amazing! Polite, well mannered, gentle, listened to my concerns, and answered all my questions. I was skeptical after seeing some poor reviews about the clinic, however, my experience was great and I would go and see this doctor again. The reception (maryanne?) and nurse (Onsa?) were also both very polite and pleasant. My one suggestion is that the clinic does look very outdated, with chips and scratches on furniture which gives an unpolished, worn, sad look to the clinic. However, this is only aesthetic. Great overall experience :)
I know that my wife wrote a review but our experience with Dr. Fajimi at this clinic was so bad that I had to write one too. We were a bit concerned about our son who had diarrhea and had been vomiting over the past few days. So, we decided to just get him checked out because we aren't health professionals. During the whole visit, he was able to "check" him out and determine that there wasn't anything to worry about from about a metre away. While I am sure that he may ultimately be "correct" that there wasn't anything to worry about, it sure would have been nice if he took a closer look. Maybe check out his eyes, ears, nose, etc. I have never been to a doctor who didn't at least look or touch the patient before. Although he is the "medical expert" in this case, perhaps a little more attention and observation than a temperature, weight (with multiple layers of clothing), and a look at my son from across the room would help him make a more informed diagnosis. But what do I know... I have been so proud of our health care system and I have had pretty good experiences as a life-long Calgarian, until tonight. I hope our experience is not indicative of the care and treatment offered by others at this clinic. I doubt we will ever visit again to find out.
It was my day off, so I made sure to come bright and early because I was a walk-in. Receptionist was very nice, nurse was nice and Dr. Hu was extremely kind and down to earth. I tried to get in with my family doctor for a drivers medical because I am type 1 diabetic, but he is always away and I can never see him. Might be checking to see if you are accepting new patients in the future. Thank you!!
