Came here with extreme abdominal pain, getting seen wasnt too bad but the doctor was rude, then they sent us to the waiting room to wait for an ultrasound and its been 2 1/2 hours. Asked for an update and they said they have no idea how long. 10/10 would not recommend.Update, its been 6 hours, still havent gotten ultrasound. They say its Canada day hours but this is supposed to be a hospital no? Seriously dont come here. Waiting room full of people, when they havent been calling anyone in for hours. Wont take my iv out so I can leave and go to a different one.
Delivered my baby here last March. The nurses and doctors were amazing. My son was in NICU for a couple days and the nurses were so awesome and helpful. All the nurses and doctors were very friendly.
Have been admitted here, and I have also come for out-patient procedures. Prefer to park/enter at West entrance. Wheelchairs, ATM, parking pay machines, flower shop, gift shop and a Second Cup are located just inside. The hospital is older and a bit outdated in places. However it is kept very clean. Overnight in Emergency was hectic but the nurses were fabulous. Upstairs was quieter and well-equipped, with great staff.Cafeteria has sandwiches, fish and chips... with some tasty additions (samosas, kebab pita etc). The numerous volunteers in red are great and the patient food services displays a special care.If coming in at Emergency, make sure to tell the triage desk if your condition worsens.
I delivered a baby at the hospital and so thankful to the staff and Dr. Lewis, they were incredible. I want to tell a special Thank you to the nurse Monique (Mo), she is just the best, she took care of me so much and it seems like she did all my job I was supposed to do. Monique is absolutely great and professional, everybody who delivers with her is so lucky. Im also very thankful to Dr. Peter who did epidural anesthesia for me, I was so scared, but he did such a wonderful job. Thank you! Ill be back :)
I received excellent care during a 24 hour stay for surgery. Seemed to be good communication between surgery, the ward, the physiotherapy department, and the porters, so I always felt well-looked after at each stage of my treatment and when moving through the hospital. Physiotherapy facility and staff really stood out as a highlight of my stay. My ward had a great private room, and I'm sure that in longer stays the privacy would aid in recovery, though I understand that some other parts of the hospital have shared ward rooms. Possible areas for improvement: parking is expensive, food is not the greatest, and based on my experience there may be not quite enough supervision of student LPNs. Overall the best of my very limited number of non-emergency hospital visits.
