Service was excellent, wait time between my arrival in ambulance and the surgery was done within 6 hours. I had a kidney stone to big to pass on its own.Staff including orderly, nurses, surgeon were professional and friendly
I came here in a life threatening state, the paramedics were super harsh and the doctors were rude. They wouldnt let me contact friends or family and removed my phone from the room. There was no communication of why and instead i was left confused and in fear. I didnt feel safe at all. Definitely dont want to come back to this hospital if there is an emergency
I just want to take a moment and express how much I appreciate unit 47 for taking care of my father. Majority of the nurses and staff were phenomenal. My father was not doing well and had stayed at this unit for several weeks. I didn't think he was going to make it to be honest. As difficult my father's case was they treated him with love and respect that is far more than I can express. They acknowledged him and didn't ignore him, when he was scared and weepy one of the nurses stopped what she was doing and consoled him. These nurses are genuinely kind, respectful, and loving and with all the hard work they face day to day they still made time to make sure my father was comfortable. Before going to this unit, the Rockyview hospitals emergency staff was also kind and consoling. Again my father was scared and was not understanding what was going in and again one the nurses that helped him stopped what she dis and consoled him telling him he will be alright and that he was in good hands, I would have to agree. Dr. Wong one of the emergency doctors that met us that first night my dad was admitted to the emergency was amazing, and was very respectful to all of us and is a good man. Thank you all for being there for us. God forbid anyone ending up in the hospital but would highly recommend this hospital. I am thankful for the staff for saving my father's life.
Was treated by Dr. Adrien Tennent & his "boss" Dr. Scott F. Part of their staff was Mike, the Respiratory therapist. WAS TREATED AS A KING under their care. GREAT HOSPITAL. CLEAN!!! CLEAN!!! CLEAN!!!
My surgeon, Dr. Bimal Bhindi, was amazing in so many ways - definitely 5 stars for him - but my experience with the hospital's nursing staff and food was less than amazing. I felt uncared for in the recovery room - it was a jolt to be treated so brusquely - and I felt uncared for as soon as it was clear I was recovering well. For example, no one ever offered me a wash cloth; one nurse straightened my bed sheets and pillows once; the food was completely unsatisfying and worse, unhealthy. I had to follow up at least once on every single request, even to make sure my vital signs were taken approx every 4 hours. Etc. I could continue, but won't.My eyes on the Canadian health care system have been opened. Advice: Be sure to have someone (non-hospital staff) with you as much as possible to care and advocate for you - and to bring you healthy liquids and food.
