Took my bicycle in for service yesterday and got the 135$ tuneup with a specific request to fix an abs-like pulsing of the rear brake. I went to pick it up today, paid, and did a quick test ride. The wheels were true and evything felt great except the rear brake still pulsed. I talked with the tech inside and he couldnt find anything on the stand, so he took it for a test too. He said that in the years of working on bicycles he had never felt something like this before. He asked to keep it for a while longer to try to diagnose and fix the issue. They did up a new service order and said they would take care of any non-major repairs needed to fix the issue. Excellent service and Ill be back again for my next bicycle for sure.Ill leave this as a 4 star review as the issue wasnt caught the first round of servicing. If theyre able to fix it, Ill bump it to 5 stars for sure. In any case, excellent staff and quality products. They stand behind what they do.
I recently bought a new bike from Bow Cycles. It developed a problem once I got it home. I contacted Bow Cycles and spoke to the sales manager Joel, who was very helpful and offered some solutions, including a full refund... This put me in contact with Brandon. Brandon's advice and thorough knowledge led me to buying a Pivot Mach 5.5. It's a great bike that came with rock solid service and technical knowledge. I shall also mention Eddy who sold me the first bike. Thanks Bow Cycles for a very positive experience.
This is a solid, local bike shop that I would recommend to folks who live in and around Bowness. They have a large selection and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. It's quite a large and busy shop, so it can be overwhelming at times, but it is well laid-out. My only complaints would be that the wait time for bicycle service (at least in the summer) is usually a week or two, even if it's something small. The labour rates for an annual tune-up were pretty standard (about $125 I believe), although I did pay $40 for labour on a spoke replacement, which seemed a little steep.
Brought my bike in with a few annoying creaks. The shop guys ended up finding a few issues related to a previous shops work. They got everything fixed, suspension overhaul to fix my issues. Quick about diagnosing/updating me on what was going on and the estimate for parts arrival. Had to wait a few days for the parts, which is 100% NOT their fault. Quick turn around even in the busy season. Bike runs beautifully after they had their hands on it. 5/5 - my new go-to shop.
Wow, what a great experience last month when we bought a new bike for our 6 year old daughter! We were in last summer (2017) and decided to come back during Spring Break in late March 2018. Excellent selection of bikes and very knowledgeable about the features and functions. Kudos to both Jack and Ethan who took the time to understand what type of riding our family does and ultimately knowing that colour is important to a 6 year old. I appreciate the extra effort to locate a Mint Cube Bike. The smile and excitement of a new Bike is priceless! Proper fit was important and the Service team quickly adjusted the brakes for our daughter. Just hoping that Spring finally comes to Calgary so we can start to enjoy this new bike. Thanks Jack and Ethan for the excellent experience.
